Crookston reunion

The Crookston Reunion was on Saturday at the site of Fort Buenaventura just south of 24th Street on the Weber River flood plain with lots of cottonwood trees. The ground was white with the cotton, the shade was pleasant, and time well spent visiting relatives. It was surprisingly quiet with an occasional train whistle. Thank you Joe Harline for making the arrangements. Donna's family will make the arrangements for next year.
It was "free" day at the fort. There was free ice cream, arrowheads, fort tours, canoe rides and even a fun little train ride around the parking lot. There were 5 teepees set-up to enjoy. Most of this was in the shade.
Pictures include Ray Crookston, Lynn Crookston talking, and Myra and Marnita in the kayak that Carl brought. Did someone get a good picture of Donna? Please add an entry to share a picture or make a comment to someone else's entry. Double click on a picture to see it in full size. The full size picture can be copied, printed, etc.
I have deleted my comments and added what I deleted to the blog entry so I can add to and edit the comments:

Ron (Marnita's) had a stroke and left him so he can't drive or tend kids. Ron can still take routine care of himself. He was tending for one of his daughters. He is in Arizona.

Gail was at the reunion by herself. A family, who's four kids she was tending, gave her a round trip plane ticket to the reunion. The Ray Crookston family has there reunion the day before the Byron F. Crookston reunion. They were well represented!

Lowell Jenkins (Donna's husband) feels good when he is giving blessings but feels poor the rest of the time. He has been stake patriarch for many years now. Donna was at the reunion with her daughter.

We enjoyed seeing Wendy (Crookston) with her husband.
None of the George Crookston family was in attendance because they were having a family wedding.

Emily Minchew says: We had fun rowing canoes on the pond. There was a small train for the kids to ride.

Thank you for posting pictures of the reunion. I wish I could've been there. I like the picture of Myra nd Marnita in the kayak. That looks like fun. Myra looks like she is really in her element! Really enjoying herself. Very nicec pictures.

James Harline comments on the cottonwood seeds looking like snow on the ground.
