Bear Lake road

Along the side of the road from Bear Lake to the summit of Logan Canyon,
the blue flax are brilliant.

The Highway Department planted them to hold the roadside in place.

The flowers are native to Utah and a striking addition to this stretch of road,
but doesn't continue into the canyon.
A visitors center has been added to the Bear Lake overlook near the summit.

Byron and Emeline Crookston Reunion

Today, June 27, 2009, we held our annual Crookston Reunion at Adams Park in Logan, Utah. Donna Jenkins was in charge. June has been cold and rainy but today was sunny and warm.

Lowell Jenkins is caught with his hand at the cookie box. Grandchildren visiting Grandma's went straight to her cookie box that she kept on the bottom shelf in her kitchen. They were not disappointed. She painted this marshmallow tin white to keep her cookies in.

Donna uses this sturdy tray that Marvell had her Cub
Scouts make of wood, rope and plastic braid.

This group shot is of Virginia Crookston, Lynn Crookston (Lynn's wife, Melva, was confined to bed at home), Ray Crookston, Donna Jenkins and her husband Lowell. Donna told us that she will turn 80 in a couple of days and she and her brother Ray share the same birthday. Ray will be 87.

The sign in sheet shows most of the people attending the reunion. Marnita attended but didn't get her name on the roll when this picture was taken. Bob, Alice and Mathew were here from Africa.
