Checking in from New Zealand

Hi Cousins; This is a fun idea for a web site with Grandma and Grandpa Crookston as our focus. I loved seeing the biography of the Harlines and all the great pictures. Thank you! I would love to hear memories of yours of Emeline and Byron. My last memory of Grandma Emeline was sweet for me. In 1975 after I graduated from High School I was going up to Bear Lake to stay for a couple of days with a girlfriend or two. We stopped in Logan to say hi to Grandma and Grandpa on the way up. They were both working in their wonderful garden. It was about noon and was so hot. She had been in the garden all morning long and was so hot and I thought exhausted. It was the first time I thought that she looked older. It was apparent to me that she was so happy we stopped by. She immediately wanted to get us something to drink and to fill our car with anything that we would take from her garden. I was so proud to share my dear grandma with my friend. I thought about how she really was older and working so hard but always loved her posterity so much. Her garden was to share with others, all the flowers, vegetables, berries etc. I have been grateful for her great example. I will check in another time with a memory of Grandpa Crookston. You can check out our blog to hear about us. http://www.momanddadlangford.blogspot.com Love and Cheers, Miriam Langford

I enjoy the way you write Mir. And I think it's fun to hear stories about Grandma and Grandpa.
I remember sleeping in that back bedroom with that big picture window and at dusk the garden looked enchanted;
I remember the big orange poppies that shook seeds out like pepper shakers, the cool breezes and the cerelian blue sky fading into pink and Prussian blue. I remember eating raspberries from the garden and getting in trouble for eating everyone els's share. I remember Grandpa's rock collection that he kept in the garage.

Thanks for the post. I read your blog often.

This blog is for the Byron Crookston decendents to have a conversation. Sort of an on line reunion. It may include family history.
