Alleman Reunion

The Alleman reunion ask for an update on our family. Since I have not been to the reunion for many years I thought I had better tell how I am related and give a quick update on our lives. So here is what I sent to John and Nancy Tippets, reptippets@msn.com.

Emeline Alleman grew up milking cows at the Crow Creek ranch, in south east Idaho. Byron Crookston was a ranger on that part of the forest and he would stop in to visit and eat with them every week or so. Following milking, if Emeline saw his horse tied up in front, she would crawl in the back window and change before coming out to greet Byron. They married and had children named Lynn, Ray, George, Lola and Donna. The family lived in Logan, Utah.

Lola and Alden met while he was studying horticulture at the Utah Agriculture College in Logan. Alden was called on a mission to the Central States Mission and Lola wrote to him faithfully. They married when he returned but was drafted into the army to serve in World War II. He joined the Sanitary Corps and was assigned to a medical lab at a prisoner of war camp in Nebraska.

I was born in 1942 in Logan, Utah and am David, the oldest of eleven children as listed: Carole, Geneil, Louise, Louona, Myra, Carl, Lorena, Joe, Alice, Ralph. Alden became a Medical Doctor following the war and was in general practice in Ogden, Utah, where Lola and Alden resided. Alden died in 1965 and Lola died in 2004.

David and Mary Jean are school teachers. David is a library media teacher at Olympus Jr. and Mary Jean is a third grade teacher at Granger Elementary. We live in West Valley City and have five grown and married children and almost eight grand children.

Carole Buchannan lives in Roy, Utah and has raised foster children for many years. Her two boys and two girls are on their own now. Carole has Three grandchildren.

You make us all sound quite productive. Thanks David for sending the biography of our family. I asked Ralph if he could join us for the reunion but he has to work. I told him we would try to stop by at 9:30 at night to see his home and his furniture refinishing projects and to visit with him.

David, I really enjoyed reading this biography of your family. I have the most wonderful memories of growing up within walking distance of my Harline cousins who we loved. If someone could print this and send it to Mom she would put it in her Harline Book. (I don't have a printer here--just two bags each and our computer)
love and cheers, Miriam Langford
